Robert Rennie held the Chair of Conveyancing at the University of Glasgow from 1994 until his retirement last summer. To celebrate his significant contribution to the study of Scots law during those 30 years, a new book -   “Essays in Conveyancing and Property Law in Honour of Professor Robert Rennie” - has been published this month. The volume is made up of nineteen essays, each written by one of Robert’s peers in the judiciary, academia or practice. The collection represents entirely new research spanning the range of Robert’s professional interests from conveyancing to property law to professional negligence. In keeping with Robert’s commitment to innovative legal education, the book has been published using the open access model, meaning it is freely available for anyone to read online or download. It can be accessed open the Open Book Publishers website here.

A symposium to celebrate Robert’s retirement and the publication of the book will take place in the Melville Room, University of Glasgow on Friday 29th May. Several of the contributors to the collection will speak at the event, with some final remarks to be made by Robert himself.

More details about the day can be found on our events page.
